Biografía de Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela nació en 1918, en Umtata (Sudáfrica). Sus padres fueron don Henry Mandela y doña Nose Keni.
Después
de terminar la secundaria Nelson ingresó a la Universidad de Fort Hare,
cerca de Ciudad del Cabo. Siguió la carrera de derecho y cuando tenía
23 años se trasladó a Johannesburgo y consiguió trabajo en un estudio
jurídico. Poco después se unió al Congreso Nacional Africano (CNA),
una organización que desde 1912 hacía campañas pacíficas contra la
discriminación y excesiva explotación que sufrían los negros
sudafricanos.
En 1934 fundo Nelsón Mandela la Liga Juvenil .
Mandela
viajó por varios paises de África para obtener fondos y recursos para
su movimiento. Pero al regresar el mismo año fue capturado en
Johannesburgo. Fue sometido a juicio y lo condenaron a cadena perpetua. Tenía 46 años cuando fue llevado a la prisión de máxima seguridad de la isla Robben, frente a Ciudad del Cabo.
Su mujer Winnie Mandela propagó los ideales de su esposo y lideró muchas movilizaciones que buscaban su libertad.
A Nelson Mandela fue liberado en el año 1990 que es cuando tenía 71 año.
En el 1994 fue elegído presidente de Sudafrica y Gobernó hasta 1999.
